Come worship with us this Weekend!

Communion is offered at every worship.

We celebrate an open communion policy at St. John’s. The Lord is the host of this holy meal. All who are baptized and believe in the real presence of Jesus in the bread and wine are invited to the table.

Sundays in Advent

During this season of Advent, music will be an important vehicle for telling the magnificent story of the incarnation and God’s redemptive love through Jesus.

From the bells, instruments, cantors and choirs of all ages, much musical activity is being generated as we prepare for the worship services in December.

The beloved advent hymn, O Come, O Come Emmanuel, which has been in use since the 8th century is a part of the medieval refrains used before and after the singing of the Magnificat, Mary’s song of praise. On December 2, at the 8 & 9:30 services, the Magnificat will be highlighted in drama as well as music and the Word.

On December 9, the choir, handbells and instruments will lead worship with the theme Savior of the Nations, Come, at the 8 and 9:30 services. The 5:15 Saturday evening service, and the 11:00 Sunday service will also include advent music.

May your season of Advent be blessed as you prepare your hearts at this holy time.

Savior of the nations, come; virgin’s son, make here your home.
Marvel now, O heaven and earth: God has chosen such a birth.

Not by human flesh and blood, but the mystic Breath of God, was the
Word of God made flesh, fruit of woman, blossom fresh.

In Christ,
Carol Haakenson, Music Director

Praise the LORD, all you nations!
Extol him, all you peoples!
For great is his steadfast love toward us,
and the faithfulness of the LORD endures forever.
Praise the LORD! ~ Psalm 117
