Small Groups
St. John's Lutheran Church strongly believes in the power of small groups. It is in these small groups that people find encouragement, strength and partners in their journey of faith. Small groups also help people feel more connected with the bigger congregation of St. John's.
You do not need to be a member of St. John's to participate in our small group ministry program.
Congregational Study 2010
Description: As Christians, hospitality and the Gospel should go hand-in-hand. While we must speak the words of repentance and faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we must not live like hypocrites and thus make our words impotent. Bypassing simple modern applications of hospitality, Amy Oden goes to its root to show how hospitality ultimately finds its basis in God. When we welcome others we extend God's welcome, and, as salvation is intrinsic in God's welcome, it must be part of our hospitality. By studying the early church's method we can gain a better understanding of what hospitality was designed to be within Christian settings, and then be able to truly extend God's welcome to those who need it the most.
