Outreach Ministries

Here are some of the many ways that members of St. John's congregation can reach out to others - near and far.

Sister Churches: St. John's is a partner-in-mission of All People's in inner city Milwaukee and Heroes of Faith in El Salvador.  Read more....

Waukesha Food Pantry: The food pantry serves the poor of the Waukesha area. Donations of food and money are used to help the less fortunate. Aluminum cans are also collected at the church and the proceeds sent to the food pantry.

Hebron House Meal: Members of St. John's provide one meal a month for the residents of Hebron House, a shelter for homeless families in Waukesha.

CCWC

CCWC: Cooperating Congregations of Waukesha County is an ecumenical ministry committed to serving people in need in Waukesha County. Some of the programs of CCWC are "A Hand to Hold Child Care Center," "Meal Programs," "Loaves & Fishes"and the "Clothes Closet." Learn More

Sister House: Sister House has been a shelter for battered and abused women and their children in Waukesha since 1981. It is a home-away-from-home for women until it is safe for them to return to their own home. It is also one of St. John's longest running service projects.

Bread for the World: Bread for the World is a nationwide Christian movement that seeks justice for the world's hungry people by lobbying our nation's decision makers. Learn More

ELCA World Hunger Appeal: Hunger Appeal Sunday is scheduled once a year. The Appeal is also supported through monthly or one time donations. Learn More

Loaves and Fishes Meals: St. John's members contribute food and dollars and prepare three meals a year for the needy of Waukesha.

Adopt-a-Child: For over 10 years, St. John's members have sponsored a number of children at the Oaks Indian Center in Oaks, Oklahoma. This support provides basic needs such as food, clothing and school supplies.

Interfaith

Interfaith Care giving Network: Volunteers provide services to elderly and disabled such as visiting, shopping, calling and more. Learn More
