Worship

Every Sunday, Christians all around the world come together for a great celebration - a party we have been celebrating since the day Jesus conquered death on the cross and came back to life - on a Sunday close to 2,000 years ago! Like any good party, our Sunday celebration involves coming together (Gathering), good conversation (God's Word), good food (The Meal or Holy Communion), and a stirring send of (Sending)...with plans to come back together again the following week!

St. John's is a child-friendly congregation. We encourage parents to bring their children to worship. We provide activity bags - located on the low table at the back of the worship area. Kids are welcome to take a bag to keep them busy while they listen, watch, and worship. If you feel your child needs a break from worship, there is a staffed nursery across the lobby.

St. John's has three worship services that range in style and music. All share the same sermon and the same Holy Communion. All are welcome to receive Holy Communion at our table. Grape juice is offered for those who prefer. And, gluten-free wafers are available from the Pastor upon request.

  • Saturday worship at 5:15 p.m. is a casual, contemplative and meditative worship service with a piano, song leader, and spoken liturgy.
  • Sunday worship at 8:30 a.m. is a traditional worship service with an organ, piano, and other instruments on occasion.  The choir (led by Carol Peterson) and the handbell choir (led by Jane Babcock) help to lead the congregation in worship.
  • Sunday worship at 11:00 a.m. is a contemporary worship service with St. John's Praise Band (led by Kenn Anderson). Guitars, drums, and vocals help to lead the congregation in worship.
