Los Héroes is a young community, established on March 24, 1996 by refugees from the Salvadoran civil war. It is a community with many challenges, including poverty, poor sanitation, few opportunities for permanent employment and gang violence.
It is, however, a community rich in faith. The church is an integral part of life in Los Héroes as reflected in the fact that the church and the community share the same name. Approximately 750 families currently live in the community.
