High School

Sunday School
Discipleship opportunities are offered for all ages from 9:45-10:45am on Sunday mornings from September through May. Our high school Sunday School class meets in the Youth Room and has a laid-back, conversational style using Bible-based lessons. Once a month, the class has a Youth Board Youth Meeting during Sunday School to plan events like service projects and fundraisers for the youth.

We’ve opened up some new opportunities for our high school students this year. In addition to the high school Sunday School class, post-confirmation high school students are invited to attend the forums and small groups traditionally thought of as “Adult Education” on Sunday mornings. Confirmed students are also encouraged to get involved on Sunday mornings by helping out in our younger Sunday School classrooms.

Parents – See the Adults page for opportunities available for you while your children are in Sunday School.

Lock-In
The High School Lock-In, held on October 22nd-23rd, was a success! The students and volunteer adults worked hard to clean up and rearrange the Youth Room, making it more suitable to be used by the youth and the various other groups who meet in the church on a regular basis.

Thank you to all of you who worked so hard to clean up that important space! Stay tuned for details concerning next year’s high school lock-in!

30-Hour Famine
April 28th-29th
St. John’s will host high schoolers from area ELCA churches for this incredible overnight event. The 30-Hour Famine is an opportunity for students to raise funds to help feed hungry people while experiencing what it’s like to be hungry themselves. During the Famine, students perform acts of service and worship to God together while they learn the truth about hunger, poverty and injustice.
