Sunday School

The Workshop Rotation Model is an exciting, innovative method of teaching Sunday school. The story or theme is taught in more than one way over a period of three or four weeks. Children age 1st through 5th grade move or “rotate” each week to a different “workshop” with a different leader.

For example, the first week the children might experience the story through cooking. The second week they might be doing science experiments. The third week the class could be working on an art project. The fourth week they might learn how a playing a game can help us remember a Bible story.

The preschool and kindergarten children also have a different lesson each week but they remain in the same classroom.

The students participate in a different type of workshop each Sunday but all of the activities are related to one story or theme. By studying the same story in various ways the participants develop a deeper understanding of the story. A key feature of the Workshop Rotation Model is that it incorporates the theory of multiple intelligences.

The Workshop Rotation Model works so well because it is based on the way children love to learn: through games, art, cooking, science and video.
Sixth grade is using a new curriculum called GRAPPLE.  Grapple uses games, on line interaction and community to strengthen our faith, our knowledge of the Bible and our relationships with each other.

All ages meet at 10:15am.
