About Our Church
![]() Who We Are
Bishop Jeff Barrow recently described St. John’s as a “destination church.” There are many ways to think about this description.
We are a destination church: we come to worship, study and share fellowship within the walls of St. John’s from the center of Milwaukee to the center of Oconomowoc, from the corners of Menomonee Falls to the corners of Vernon. Something about the liveliness of the Holy Spirit in action at St. John’s calls us to come together from a broad geographic area. This sometimes makes it difficult for us to connect well with one another, and we need tools such as this website to help us to do that.
We are a destination church: we are a church that is going places, heading out beyond our walls into the community. Whether we are sharing our faith and our resources in Waukesha, Milwaukee, Kentucky, Missouri, El Salvador or Tanzania, we are traveling in the Holy Spirit to destinations near and far to do God’s work and to be God’s people together.
A little glimpse into the ministries of St. John, within and beyond our walls, are captured in this website. More detailed information can be found by contacting any of the staff and lay leaders of the church.
